Approximately Half a Million Manats Allocated for Construction of “LAÇIN” Sign

The state budget plans to allocate 489,667.98 manats for the construction of the “LAÇIN” sign in the city of Lachin. The relevant tender was announced by the Public Legal Entity “Service for Restoration, Construction and Management in Lachin District.”

According to information published on the unified public procurement internet portal, the procurement is classified as “steel installation works for structures.” The project includes excavation, transportation of soil, the use of excavators and other machinery, as well as installation works.

If the total project cost is divided among the five letters of the “LAÇIN” sign, each letter would account for approximately 97,933 manats, or roughly 100,000 manats. This calculation also includes construction and other technical works.

However, the allocation of nearly half a million manats for a structure displaying the name of the city has prompted public discussion regarding the efficiency of government spending.

It should be noted that Rafiq Bakir oghlu Salmanov has headed the Public Legal Entity “Service for Restoration, Construction and Management in Lachin District” since 2025.
