Six people held accountable over social media posts

Six individuals have been brought to administrative responsibility over their social media posts. Four of them were sentenced to administrative detention, while two were fined.
The Prosecutor General’s Office said the individuals violated Article 510.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses by sharing content on social networks that allegedly insulted public morality, showed open disrespect and contained immoral expressions.
The agency warned citizens that the virtual space is not beyond legal oversight and that everyone is legally responsible for the content they publish online. It added that strict measures will continue to be taken against actions targeting national moral values.
It was also noted that on 19 December 2025 the Milli Majlis adopted amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses and the law “On Information, Informatization and Protection of Information.” Under the changes, sharing content online that insults public morality can result in fines of 500–1000 manats or up to 30 days of administrative detention. If the offense is repeated within one year, the penalty increases to a fine of 1000–2000 manats or one to two months of detention.
